NEC concludes major deal to retain leading leisure shows

The NEC has secured a new five-year deal which will see it remain the home of two leading leisure events until 2021.

The exhibition centre has concluded an agreement with NCC Events to keep the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show and the Motorhome and Caravan Show.

The shows, held in February and October respectively, are the UK’s largest in their sector. Both are among the top ten most visited exhibitions in the UK.

The upcoming Motorhome and Caravan Show, which is being staged between October 17-22, occupies 11 halls and is expected to bring around 100,000 visitors to the NEC site.

John Lally, CEO of NCC Events, said: “We are looking forward to continuing to work with the NEC for the next five years. No other venue can bring the flexibility and space we need to make our shows successful. This contract also provides NCCE with long-term certainty which results in more benefits than a shorter contract.”

Kathryn James, managing director of the NEC Group Conventions and Exhibitions, said: “We are delighted that NCCE have chosen to stay with us until 2021. They bring almost 200,000 visitors and over 500 exhibitors with them each year, making them one of our largest organising customers.

“To date, we have had a very successful relationship with NCCE and the wider community, providing them with the space, facilities and operational support they needed to grow their two market leading events.

“We are looking forward to continuing to be at their side over the coming years to help drive future success for them and all of their exhibitors and visitors.”
