UNiDAYS founder receives major entrepreneur award

Josh Rathour

Josh Rathour, chief executive and founder of UNiDAYS, based in Nottingham, received the Rising Star award at last night’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year UK 2017 final.

UNiDAYS is a student affinity network, connecting a verified student audience with relevant brands and services all over the world. Joining the UNiDAYS network gives students exclusive discounts from some of the best known retailers. The company is already one of the fastest growing in the UK with more than 8.5m student users and over two million app users across 32 countries.

The independent judging panel applauded Rathour for building something very powerful for the students, and also commended him for creating a business that is truly putting back into the community. The judges felt that under Rathour’s leadership, UNiDAYS has the potential to become one of the most successful UK technology businesses.

Neil Meredith, partner and Midlands Entrepreneur Of The Year leader at EY, said: “Founding the business in 2011, Josh is a true entrepreneur, driven by continuous improvement and innovation. He’s an inspiration to all business leaders and has shown that it is possible to build a world class business from scratch in only a few years.

“EY Entrepreneur Of The Year rightly recognises and celebrates his success in the Rising Star category. The programme also demonstrates the part played by dynamic, fast growth companies – and the people behind them – in driving the region’s economy.”
