Musical tribute week at Birmingham theatre

Whitney – Queen of the Night

It’s musical tribute week at Birmingham’s Alexandra Theatre as the venue hosts three shows celebrating the lives and music of a trio of diverse artistes.

First up on Sunday and Monday is Marley Reprised.

This features Mitchell Brunings, lead of the sell-out musical One Love, who returns to Birmingham with his live band to perform a special concert. The show features a full evening of Bob Marley’s greatest hits.

On Tuesday, it’s the turn of easy listening legends The Carpenters.

The Carpenters Story features the vocals of Claire Furley as Karen Carpenter, who will be performing a series of the duo’s best-known hits including: (They Long To Be) Close To You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Yesterday Once More, Top of the World, and more, all backed by live musicians.

The late and tragic Whitney Houston is the focus of attention on Thursday (October 26) when the theatre stages Whitney – Queen of the Night.

The show is a celebration of the singer’s life and music, and features a line-up of musicians and artistes performing songs including: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time, I’m Every Woman, My Love is Your Love, So Emotional Baby, Run to You, Saving All My Love, I will Always Love You, and many more.

More details on all the shows are available on the theatre’s website.
