Smart Works Birmingham backed by LoveBrum members

Smart Works Birmingham

Smart Works Birmingham, an organisation which supports women back into employment, has received £2,000 funding from LoveBrum.

LoveBrum’s members vote each month to support an organisation from a shortlist of three, based on a theme. January’s theme was self improvement and Northfield-based Smart Works proved to be most popular.

Smart Works Birmingham looks to support women struggling to back into work. They provide styling services and interview coaching to ensure that women go to interviews looking and feeling their best.

The organisation wants to double their client base moving from 20 appointments a month to 40, and is looking to recruit 10 more volunteers.

The other shortlisted organisations were Push On Wellbeing, which is based in Chelmsley Wood and delivers fitness classes, and Local Access Centre, which provides information, advice, guidance and referral services, specialising in supporting people with disabilities, ethnic minority communities and those with long term health conditions.
