Appointments: CBRE, Carter Jonas and Savills Birmingham
CBRE has promoted five staff at its Birmingham office. Helen Palgrave and Melissa Wase-Rogers have both been promoted from associate to director, Verity Cubitt and Owen Williams to associate director and Sarah Matthews to senior surveyor.
Palgrave joined CBRE nine years ago and works in the asset services team, advising CBRE Global Investors on a range of funds, including BBC Pension Fund, The Civil Aviation Authority and Akzo.
Wase-Rogers, who specialises in industrial agency, joined CBRE in 2013. She has worked on a number of major schemes across the Midlands, including Birch Coppice, Lyons Park and Derby Commercial Park.
Jane Barlow
Property consultancy Carter Jonas has appointed five new members to its infrastructure and energy team in Birmingham, including Jane Barlow and Lisa Smith as associate partners. Jamie Simpson as an associate, and Edward Beale and Katryna Ley as senior surveyor and surveyor respectively. They will be based in the firm’s office at 2 Snowhill.
Barlow has held roles at United Utilities, GVA Grimley and Dalcour Maclaren, while Smith’s experience includes undertaking RICS Red Book valuations, lease renewal and rent review negotiations, business rates defence and advising on the management of corporate estate portfolios.
Simpson has worked in valuations, and has experience of commercial, residential and development property for loan security and fund purposes. He has provided loan security valuations for all major lenders, including Lloyds Banking Group, Santander, Handelsbanken and Barclays.
Beale has advised on compulsory purchase and compensation, landlord and tenant, valuation, and asset management, while Ley advised on asset disposal in the commercial sector.
Chris Torbett joins real estate advisor Savills Birmingham as an associate in the development team.
He joins Savills from JLL, where he worked as a senior surveyor. Prior to that, he worked for Wychaven District Council as a graduate development surveyor. Torbett will specialise in residential development, acting on behalf of developers and landowners undertaking agency, acquisitions, and consultancy and valuation projects.
