Armed Forces fitness provider gets more space to assist with growth

Indigo Fitness

Indigo Fitness, which started in 1996, has moved into new premises of 20,000 sq ft at the 2.5 acre Co-Operative Society distribution centre in Nuneaton, after spending the previous 15 years at its factory in Hinckley.

Indigo creates bespoke fitness equipment and exercise spaces for amongst others, the Armed Forces, and is also building a performance gym for Middlesborough FC. The business was able to move into its new premises thanks to help from the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP Growth Hub (CWLEPGH) who helped Indigo access funding from the European Regional Development Fund, which paid for the extensive renovation required at the Co-Op site.

Indigo’s managing director, Rob Coleman said:”Our business has been growing consistently for a long time now and this move gives us further opportunity to grow and expand for years to come. We have had to put in a lot of effort in to ensuring the site is suitable for us. Now we have everything up to scratch and ready to go and the improvements are clear.”

Moving to new premises has created much more room for Indigo’s 30 staff members, and allows the business to recruit more staff as it grows.

Coleman added:”There is so much space available to us now, so we can manufacture faster, develop new equipment concepts and in turn offer our clients a better service. The Growth Hub were crucial in assisting us with this move, as we had to deal with a lot of detailed planning applications and funding applications to help with the crucial renovation.”

Gary Theyson, an account manager with the CWLEPGH said:”Indigo Fitness is a unique business with an incredible track record of success. Their move is a big step forward not just for current contracts but also for the future, they have space to grow and develop now.”

“We are very pleased to have been able to assist with this move, which breathes new life into a large and historic space and brings a major business to Nuneaton.”
