Bridalwear sale heads to Staffordshire following Berketex administration

Wedding gowns from liquidated bridal retailer Berketex will be available to view and buy at a warehouse sale in Staffordshire this weekend.

The sale, being held by John Pye Auctions on Saturday February 9 in Marchington, follows the announcement that bridal retailer Berketex had ceased trading and fell into administration in November.

The John Pye Business Assets team was appointed to deal with the valuation and disposal of more than 20,000 unsold bridal gowns, plus hundreds of shoes and accessories.

Since November, John Pye Business Assets has been helping Berketex customers by reuniting them with dresses that they had paid for in full or had made a deposit on, before administration was announced.

The company continues to hold weekly warehouse sales at its Port Talbot site in south Wales every Friday and Saturday, and now remaining stock will also be available to purchase at John Pye’s Marchington site from this Saturday until the end of March.

Trevor Palethorpe, national head of corporate valuations at John Pye, said: “We’ve had a great deal of interest in this sale already at our south Wales site, as there is an opportunity for brides to purchase a wedding gown at a fraction of the recommended retail price and walk away with it the same day.

“Anyone is welcome to come and view the gowns at our Marchington site.

“All of the dresses left are purely shop stock, so this is the perfect opportunity to find a dream dress at a discounted price.”
