Blues sign up foreign exchange for shirt deal

FOREIGN exchange and money transfer company RationalFX have been unveiled as the new shirt sponsors of Birmingham City FC.

The London-based company has signed up to a one-year agreement with the Blues following the end of its deal with F&C Investments after the 2010/11 season.

The news is a welcome boost to the Championship club following last month’s announcement that it was looking for match-by-match shirt sponsorship.

Birmingham City said RationalFX had originally begun talking to the club about this arrangement but this developed into a one-year deal with possible further extension.

Blues rival Aston Villa signed up with foreign exchange firm FxPro last season but their three-year deal was terminated after just one season.

Blues Commercial Manager Ian Dutton says: “From the very first conversation we had with RationalFX it was clear that the company mirrored Birmingham City’s professionalism and ambition.

“We are very much looking forward to working closely with such a dynamic, rapidly expanding company.”
