Planning permission secured at St. Modwen Park Stoke South

St. Modwen has secured planning permission for a 250,782 sq ft unit at its St. Modwen Park Stoke South development in North Staffordshire.

The 400-acre St. Modwen Park Stoke South site, formerly known as Trentham Lakes, is a key employment hub in Stoke and is home to businesses including Screwfix, Pets at Home, Portmeirion and Amazon.

In October last year, St. Modwen submitted planning applications for more than 570,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics build, which included the 250,782 sq ft unit. The new permission could create more than 300 jobs in the area.

Euan Lindsay, senior development manager at St. Modwen, said: “This planning permission shows our continued investment in North Staffordshire. We know there is a strong demand for well-located industrial and logistics space and our developments to date have proven that Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire are ideal locations to expand our quality offering.”

Cllr Anthony Munday, cabinet member for greener city, development and leisure, said: “This is another boost for the city’s economy and a further sign of just how attractive Stoke-on-Trent is as a place to do business, particularly with our excellent transport links. St Modwen’s development has created a thriving business hub which supports employment for hundreds of our residents, and it’s great to hear there could be even more jobs on the way.”
