LoveBrum launches £15,000 funding grant

Birmingham charity LoveBrum has launched a £15,000 community fund as it celebrates the causes it has supported over the last four years at its second annual Impact Week.

The new community funding is available as a single grant, in addition to the current funding LoveBrum offers.

According to their annual report which it launched at the start of Impact Week, LoveBrum has raised over £60,000, created 872 volunteer hours and donated 15,000 items to Birmingham’s homeless community.

In 2018, LoveBrum secured £250,000 of National Lottery funding from the Big Lottery Fund, and it was able to add over £50,000 to the funding pot.

Applications for the new Community Impact Fund will be open to any organisation looking to make the city a better place, said the organisation, but will look to fund community-based projects working to overcome the challenges Birmingham faces, particularly tackling homelessness and the poverty gap.

LoveBrum also saw the brand new appointment of executive director, Paul Mitchell in 2018.

He said: “The past 12 months have been an incredible time for LoveBrum. Since receiving the National Lottery funding last year, we have been able to support even more hidden gem projects who are doing incredible things across the city.

“With Impact Week being a real celebration of our city – and a reason for us to look at the incredible impact that LoveBrum has had, there was no better time to announce the brand-new Community Impact Fund. The fund not only provides the causes a greater platform along with the freedom to continue the valuable work they are doing within our local communities, it also marks the next stage in growth for us as a charity.”

Official sponsors of Impact Week, Birmingham Cocktail Bar – The Victoria, are offering half-price memberships to the first 100 people to sign up between 29 April – 3 May.

The yearly membership entitles members to a range of benefits including a LoveBrum loyalty card, access to exclusive member offers and events and a monthly vote for which project you would like to see awarded funds.
