Business lender celebrates record £1.1m month

Regional business lender BCRS Business Loans has achieved a record month, delivering £1.1m in business loans in April.

In its most successful month since the lender launched in 2002, the finance provider reportedly helped safeguard 50 jobs and create another 62.

BCRS says its aim is to support West Midlands businesses that are struggling to access funding from traditional lenders.

It offers loans from £10,000 to £150,000, and it distributes loans on a not-for-profit basis. It receives funding from the European Regional Development Fund and Regional Growth Fund, and is a delivery partner for the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.

Paul Kalinauckas, the chief executive of BCRS Business Loans, said: “After getting so close to the magic million on a number of occasions, we are really excited to have unlocked this achievement.

“This is the perfect way to start the new financial year, especially after such a successful end to the last one where we lent over £7.2m.

“The real measure of our performance is how many businesses have secured the funding they need to grow and prosper. During April we supported 20 businesses who are now able to safeguard 50 jobs and are set to create 62 new jobs in the West Midlands.”
