Investor marks expansion with move to landmark Birmingham building

BGF is continuing its expansion in the Midlands with a move to a 12,000 sq ft space on the top floor of the landmark Lewis Building in Birmingham.

Birmingham was BGF’s headquarters when the business was set up in 2011 and boasts a large team of 15 investors and portfolio directors, as well as legal, finance and deal origination teams.

The new office includes areas for meetings, events, networking and dinners and will also provide a city centre base for BGF’s portfolio companies, which span all corners of the East and West Midlands.

The office will also play host to BGF’s national training courses where it will hold investment forums, training for new investors and professional development courses.

BGF has invested more than £355m across 45 Midlands businesses since 2011.

Recent investments include Telford returns management platform ReBOUND, Stoke-based waste management business Red Industries, Birmingham-based Click Travel and BioCity, the UK’s largest life sciences incubator based in Nottingham.

Gurinder Sunner, who leads BGF’s team in the Midlands, said: “The new office is a tangible reminder of BGF’s own growth journey in the city and wider region. I’m delighted that our team has such a fantastic working environment, a real testament to their achievements. I’m also excited to welcome new and existing entrepreneurs and management teams to work and grow with us in this space.”
