Traffic Alert: Long delays on M5

The M5 is currently closed from J2 (Oldbury) to J1 (West Bromwich) with delays of at least 30 minutes covering several miles of the northbound carriageway.

The closure is due to debris across the carriageway after an HGV shed part of its metal load.

Diversion route details:

Follow the hollow yellow circle diversion symbol and exit the M5 at J2 onto the link road to the A4123/A4034 (Birchley island).

Take the fifth exit onto the A4034 northbound. Continue on the A4034 to the roundabout with the A457. Travel along the A457, then the A4252 to re-join the M5 at J1.
