Aldi UK’s plans to expand its headquarters in Warwickshire have been given the green light, paving the way for the creation of 865 jobs.

Plans for new offices and a warehouse at the 13.5-acre site in Atherstone have been agreed by North Warwickshire District Council’s planning committee.

The designs include a 596 multi-storey car park and a surface level car park with 185 spaces.

In total, 87,123 sq ft of office space and 120,243 sq ft of warehouse space will be created.

The expansion is expected to support an around 425 jobs over the next five years – 50 in the warehouse and 375 office jobs.

A further outline application for office space is expected to enable the creation of a further 440 jobs once completed.

The proposals have been designed by Birmingham-based STOAS Architects.
