Brewery reveals five year plan for cafe bar roll out

Staffordshire-based Titanic Brewery is drawing up a five-year plan to roll out its bod café bar concept as the finishing touches are made to its fourth site.

A new bod café bar will open on the High Street in Newport, Shropshire on Monday, created in a former NatWest Bank.

The Newport site is set to create 20 jobs and follows the success of the first three Titanic café bars in Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent.

Titanic Brewery launched the concept in 2018.

The venues operate as a café throughout the day and craft, real ale are available from lunchtime onwards.

Director Dave Bott said: “We have been looking at the town for some time and, when the NatWest bank came available, it represented an ideal opportunity.

“We believe we have created something very special in the bod café concept and customers at our other sites in Stafford, Trentham and Stoke have been very enthusiastic.

“The bod format works well as it promotes a relaxing, inviting environment for the whole community. We get a very diverse crowd, from students coming in for milkshakes or hot chocolates to business people looking for a different space to meet in. Our café bars also prove popular for people of all ages looking for a light lunch and we also encourage community use, playing host to a variety of special interest groups.

“In the evenings, bod becomes a place to relax with an exciting range of craft beer, gin and wine.”

“We are really excited to be opening the doors in Newport. The interior is looking fantastic and we have a superb location at the heart of historic Newport.”

Titanic Brewery has worked closely with B3, a specialist café, bar and shopfitting company from Stone, Staffordshire.

Titanic Brewery is owned by brothers, Keith and Dave Bott. The Burslem-based brewery was founded in 1985 and has grown to produce over 4 million pints of beer a year. It now employs more than 150 people at the brewery and across the pubs and bod bars.

The company currently has eight pubs.

Bott added: “We have made no secret in recent years of our desire to expand our estate. Titanic has become known for its friendly, comfortable and well stocked community pubs and the bod bars are a different twist on that theme.

“The community has always been at the heart of what we do as we believe that good quality pubs are at the heart of successful towns and villages across the country. Our bod café bars build on that and are designed to meet a new desire by our customers for a multi-purpose venue, open throughout the day.

“Following the success of the bod brand, we are currently developing a medium-term plan to find the right development sites across the Midlands and North West.”
