Prominent member of region’s corporate finance community dies

Paul Halford, a prominent member of the West Midlands corporate finance community, has died.

Halford’s career spanned over 40 years, working primarily in corporate banking and SME investment, 10 years of which he spent as a regional director for Natwest’s West Midlands division.

He was also an active contributor to both the West Midlands Regional Finance Forum and the Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership’s Access 2 Finance committee.

Latterly, he joined Finance Birmingham in 2014, also working for sister company Frontier Development Capital (FDC).

Sue Summers, CEO, paid tribute on behalf of the firms, saying: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague Paul Halford. Paul was instrumental in the growth of our businesses and played a crucial role within the senior management team. His time with us was the latest role in a legacy career supporting SMEs across the West Midlands.

”Anyone who had the pleasure of working with Paul will testify to his diligence, knowledge, good humour and limitless generosity. He had an exceptional ability to bring people together and will be sorely missed throughout the regional corporate finance community. Our deepest sympathies are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
