Opening date announced for Gino D’Acampo restaurant
Chef Gino D’Acampo has announced he will open the doors to his new restaurant in Birmingham on October 31.
The 165-cover restaurant, situated on Temple Row in the former Allied Irish Bank space next to The Ivy & San Carlo, boasts a 25m cocktail bar, deli bar and private dining.
The opening marks the completion of the first of a two-phased programme, with the second phase promising a roof top sky bar & restaurant, with views overlooking the city.
D’Acampo said: “I want to open restaurants in the coolest cities in the UK, so I am super excited to be opening in such a great location in Birmingham. It took me years to find the perfect site. People here love to dress up and go out and I’m excited to welcome them personally to My Restaurant.”
D’Acampo first made his move into restaurants when he teamed up with friend and business partner Steven Walker, founder of the up-market Manchester based restaurant group Individual Restaurants, whose collection includes Bank Restaurant & Bar, Piccolino, The Restaurant Bar & Grill and Opera Grill.
