30 jobs lost as furniture firm calls in administrators

Some 30 jobs have been lost at Lloyds Industries, the firm which owns furniture firm Lloyds, after administrators were called in.

Lloyds, which has been trading for 30 years, has showrooms in Coventry, Pershore, Shipston-on-Stour, Sutton Coldfield and Alcester.

Gavin Bates of Smart Business Recovery was appointed administrator to the firm on 11 October.

He told TheBusinessDesk.com: “The company has suffered a downturn in turnover in recent months which has led to cash flow pressures which it has been unable to resolve.

“Unfortunately this has led to 30 redundancies but [the administrator] is actively looking for a purchaser for the business and would welcome any interest.”
