City centre tailor expands premises

A Birmingham tailor has relocated to larger premises to meet a growing demand for bespoke menswear.
Colmore Tailors has taken a suite at the listed Cheltenham House on Temple Street in the city centre, which was completely refurbished two years ago.
Self-taught tailor Scott Caddick started the firm in a spare bedroom in Lichfield five years ago.
The company’s Cheltenham House suite features a range of over 60 seasonal fabric bunches, try-on suits and samples, accessories and a purpose-built dressing and client meeting area.
Caddick said: “The traditional view of tailoring is rigid and stiff, both in the textiles and approach to fitting. I want to change that and provide a place where people could drop-in and get advice.
“We want to get under the skin of what buyers need these days and offer one-to-one personal suggestions without the interruptions a traditional retail space might create.
“We can be entirely flexible in our hours and have had customers here until 9pm.”
