Label supplier set for growth with funding boost

A Dudley based supplier of specialist thermal transfer, inkjet and laser labels has invested in state-of-the-art digital label printing equipment which is set to increase turnover by up to 30% following a £320,000 asset purchase deal.

With customers in a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, warehousing and distribution and healthcare, The Label Centre is primarily focused on solving labelling problems caused by temperature, abrasion, difficult surfaces, hostile environments or novel label applications.

The new equipment allows The Label Centre to offer customers the most durable finish on a wide range of materials in challenging environments. In addition, by moving to a digital print process, the company will benefit from reduced set up time, less waste, increased production capacity and shorter lead times.

Derry Bryan, director at The Label Centre, said: “The funding from HSBC UK will allow our business to continue to remain competitive within the market, securing the jobs of current workforce and allowing us to recruit for new positions to help meet demand – all of which contribute to the longevity of the company.”

Stephen Peart, area director for business banking in the Black Country, HSBC UK,said: “The funding from HSBC UK has allowed The Label Centre to invest in equipment which will allow it to fulfil changing demands in an increasingly complex marketplace. In addition, the increase in production capacity will enable the business to increase turnover creating improved potential for future growth. We have worked with Derry at The Label Centre for 20 years and we’d like to wish him and his team every success with their future growth plans.”
