Peak District brewery to open Colmore Row bar

A Bakewell brewery and pub company is set to open a new Birmingham city centre venue.

Thornbridge Brewery will open The Colmore next Monday (9 December), in conjunction with beer supplier Pivovar, in the former Lloyds Bank building.

Thornbridge chief executive Simon Webster said: “We’re really pleased to be moving ahead with Birmingham as we know how much excitement there was when we first announced we would be opening in the city.”

Thornbridge first teamed up with Pivovar in 2017, aiming to open 10 sites across the UK.

The Birmingham bar will be modeled on the partnership’s Market Cat venue in York.

Jamie Hawksworth, owner and director of Pivovar, said: “As we have done with the Market Cat, we want to create visually stunning venues, where people can relax and indulge in all that we have to offer.”
