EY announces senior appointment to advisory team

EY has bolstered its advisory team in the Midlands with the appointment of Paul Smith as associate partner.

He joins EY’s risk team and will be focused on advising clients on how to use data to establish compliance frameworks.

Previously Smith led a data assurance team for another Big Four firm. He specialises in advising large clients on how to align systems and technology with people and governance structures to bring practical solutions to compliance and risk management challenges, such as GDPR.

He said: “I am delighted to join EY’s Risk Advisory team in the Midlands.

“I’m passionate about helping clients to better manage their business so it’s fit for the future. This includes advising our clients on the future direction of regulation – and embracing technology to prepare for the unprecedented change businesses are facing.”
