Birmingham lawyers advise on international private equity deal

The corporate team at the Birmingham office of law firm Irwin Mitchell has advised on a deal that has seen Aerospheres UK, a portfolio business of Acorn Growth Companies, being acquired by US-based firm FDH.

Based in Harrow, Aerospheres is a value-added distributor of aerospace aftermarket chemicals, composites and other consumable materials for maintenance applications and MRO service providers.

FDH is headquartered in El Segundo in California and has operations across North America, Europe and Asia. The business is owned by Audax Private Equity and it has acquired Aerospheres to broaden its aftermarket presence in the chemicals space and expand its international footprint.

Led by corporate partner Nick Dawson, Irwin Mitchell advised Acorn Growth Companies and the shareholders of Aerospheres UK on the deal.

Other members of the team at the law firm included partner Daniel Bastide, Matt Smith, Stephen Hutton and Tom Wisniewski.

Acorn Growth Companies is a middle market private equity firm focused exclusively on aerospace, defence and intelligence.
