St. Modwen bolsters industrial and logistics business

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics has strengthened its team with the appointment of senior preconstruction manager Alistair Jespersen.

The developer has significantly ramped up its industrial and logistics delivery since the formation of a dedicated, sector-led business unit in May 2019.

Jespersen – with a career spanning more than 25 years’ experience in industrial real estate – will be responsible for improving St. Modwen’s delivery programme with a specific focus on the preconstruction stage.

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics takes a customer-centric approach in delivering future-focused and attractive industrial and logistics spaces in appropriate and desirable environments for occupiers.

Previously vice president of construction EMEA at DHL, Jespersen will provide strategic and innovative solutions from land acquisition to the commencement of construction works in his new role.

As former construction director at IDI Gazeley and senior director at real estate services firm CBRE, Jespersen’s appointment signifies St. Modwen’s continued commitment to providing commercial space for current and prospective occupiers and comes at a time when St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics is expanding its portfolio across the UK.

Jespersen said: “I am joining the business at a pivotal point in its history. Focusing on the preconstruction stage of any industrial build is key to engaging the class-leading occupiers that St. Modwen is consistently attracting through its high-quality schemes at strategic locations across the UK. I hope my involvement will see us develop an impressive portfolio of industrial and logistics customers.”

Richard Carter, senior director – construction, at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics, added: “Alistair will play an invaluable role in providing us with new solutions for land acquisition and construction. His expertise will undoubtedly help us expand our Industrial & Logistics portfolio and increasing our offering to customers. We’re committed to attracting and retaining the best talent. Alistair joins a working environment where his talent can continue to thrive.”
