Warwickshire recruitment firm subject of High Court petition

A LEAMINGTON Spa internet recruitment business could be wound up after Business Secretary Vince Cable presented a petition to the High Court.

The Insolvency Service said the petition was presented “to wind up in the public interest” Right Step Internet Recruitment.

It was created following confidential inquiries carried out by Company Investigations, part of the Insolvency Service, under the Companies Act 1985.

Right Step, which is no longer trading, was incorporated on the end of April and its only director is William Morton while company secretary is Stephen Richards.

On the application of the Business Secretary, the official receiver has been appointed by the court as provisional liquidator of the company.

The role of the official receiver is to protect the assets and financial records of the company pending determination of the petition.

The provisional liquidator also has the power to investigate the affairs of the company to protect assets, including any third party or trust monies or assets in the possession of the firm or under its control.

The petition, presented under provisions of the Insolvency Act 1986, is listed for a hearing on October 19 and no further information would made available ahead of this date, the Insolvency Service said.

Right Step could not be contacted for comment.
