Residential plans revealed for run-down Digbeth site

A developer has revealed plans to build a 78-unit residential scheme on a derelict site in Digbeth.

Home Nation has submitted plans to Birmingham City Council to develop the land on the corner of Bradford Street and Moseley Road, in a move which will see 5 and 11 Moseley Road demolished.

If successful, the firm will bring forward a part-6, part-8 building on 1-,2- and 3-bedroom apartments with 5th and 6th floor roof terraces. The planning application also reveals designs to see the conversion of a workshop inton a two-bedroom apartment.

The plans have been designed by K4 Architects.

A planning statement reads: “It is thought that the application scheme will make a high-quality addition to Moseley Road and Bradford Street, raising the quality of the area and enhancing the street. It makes a positive contribution to the setting of the listed building by reinstating lost street frontage and also brings back into use historic buildings to the rear of the site which would otherwise be in a perilous situation.”
