Joint venture submits plans for £258m residential scheme

The scheme will tower over Birmingham

Plans for a 722-apartment scheme in Birmingham city centre have been submitted.

The Great Charles Street development would include residential, retail and public realm space.

Moda Living and Apache Capital want to build the £258m scheme on Great Charles Street. If they receive the green light, it will be joint-venture’s second planned Birmingham scheme – the other being a 42-storey tower on Broad Street called The Mercian.

Work began on The Mercian last April, with a 165-week build schedule, which is targeting completion in June 2022. The build-to-rent development will offer 481 apartments with up to three bedrooms and long-term rents of up to five years.
