Developer unveils £80m Stafford mixed-use scheme plans

How the scheme could look

Godwin Developments has revealed plans to redevelop the former Stafford Rugby Club ground into a major mixed-use scheme, according to reports.

The £80m scheme will include a new 100-room hotel, 300 build-to-rent homes and retail and leisure space, according to trade publication Property Week, which says the Godwin is in “early-stage” discussions with Staffordshire Borough Council regarding planning for the development.

Stuart Pratt, group development director and co-founder at Godwin Developments, told Property Week: “Staffordshire is an important area of development focus for us as we see high growth potential in the region.

“We believe that the Stafford Borough Council Regeneration Plan alongside the construction of HS2 and the Stafford Gateway Masterplan project will be key drivers to fast-track growth of the town, which is already shaping into a highly attractive investment proposition for developers and commuters alike.”
