Digital visualisation company reports surge in demand

A digital visualisation company, which specialises in creating highly detailed interactive virtual tours of show homes, has reported a rise in demand for its service due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

White Crow Studios, based in Lichfield, has seen a 20% rise in requests from homebuilders and estate agents wanting to use their technology so people can view homes, built or already built, from the safety of their own homes.

Lisa Pedley, White Crow Studios director, said the demand for their product had increased “dramatically” since the lockdown began, and only looked to increase as it continued, and even into the period where it is eventually lifted.

“We have seen a 20% rise in clients commissioning these type of services, especially for clients that have never thought about doing this style of marketing previously.

“One of our existing clients, Walsall Housing Group (WHG), have commissioned numerous interior animated walkthroughs of their popular housetypes across an array of their current sales developments. As they can’t invite customers to their sales offices the importance of virtual animated walk-throughs are key at this time.

“Another client has chosen to commission interior still imagery to showcase stock housetypes that have already been built but are unable to be photographed or currently visited by potential buyers,” she added.

The company had already seen a sharp rise in demand for the product over the past 18 months, as remote engagement had allowed property developers to sell more widely to overseas buyers and investors.

Pedley added: “We first created these types of 360 virtual tours for Birmingham based property developer Court Collaboration more than five years ago and the technology and amount of detail we can include just increases by the day. When searching for a new home, buyers want to view straight away and buying off-plan is becoming increasingly more demanding and competitive.

“Through the use of CGI we can digitise showhome interiors to any specification. There is no need to wait to wait for them to be built, dressed and cleaned before engaging with a photographer, commissioning CGI takes away the hassle in return saving you time and money. We also have an in-house interior designer to make sure the styling and design is right for the build and specifications, and right on trend too.

“We think people will be much more aware of where they are travelling to, what they are doing and why they are making that journey – so if we know we can have an experience such as this on hand, it will become much more of a go-to product, rather than a ‘nice to have’, as developers, and buyers will see the huge benefits this brings to the market,” she said.
