Loganair – Birmingham Airport’s new airline

As lockdown restrictions begin to ease, some distinctive planes have been spotted at Birmingham Airport featuring unique tartan tailfins – but which airline is responsible for this iconic themed branding?

The answer is Loganair, and it may surprise you – but they are the UK’s longest established airline (operating since 1962) and now the UK’s largest regional airline.

As lockdown restrictions have eased, Loganair has been the first airline to recommence passenger flights across the UK, so that key domestic connectivity is restored for business and friends and family – as soon as the time is right.

Loganair is initially flying from Birmingham Airport to Aberdeen up to 4 days per week from the 12th June – Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Though as the UK economy gradually re-opens, frequency will increase in the coming weeks.

Loganair were also the first UK airline to introduce new healthy-flying measures to protect their customers whilst travelling during the Covid-19 outbreak. Their “Simple Steps to Healthy Flying” initiative involves zonal-embarkation, the provision of PPE for customers and auto-seat allocation for maximum social distancing on-board, to name a few measures.

For those who have not flown with Loganair before – they were recently awarded the Domestic Airline of the Year award by the SPAA and all their fares include 15kg hold-luggage as standard.

Aberdeen flights provide an important link for those in the West Midlands who work offshore in the North Sea Energy Sector and provide easy access to some of Scotland’s most beautiful outdoor spaces.

Aberdeenshire is host to more castles per acre than anywhere else in Scotland and is nearby the magnificent Cairngorm Mountains, so if you’re looking for a short-break when the time is right, without travelling abroad, why not get to know Aberdeenshire?

If you are looking to feel like you’re somewhere a million miles away but stay close to home, then it’s also easier than ever to visit the beautiful Northern Isles of Orkney and Shetland, with one-stop connections via Aberdeen.

If your travel for business or are a frequent flyer, then you can also take advantage of Loganair’s rewards programme – Clan Loganair. Simply fly and collect Clan Points which can then be exchanged for Clan Reward flights. Members of Clan Loganair also receive exclusive offers and early access to seat sales. Sign-up here.

If you’re working offshore, Loganair offer extra flexibility for Vantage Card Holders too – one free change on return journeys, in case of poor weathers or short-notice work changes.

You may or may not be ready for travel just yet, but when you are – Loganair are ready for you. Flights can be booked online at www.loganair.co.uk or via your business travel provider
