Council on hunt for development partner for swimming pool site scheme

Worcester City Council is seeking a development partner to transform a swimming pool site into a residential scheme.

Following the opening of a new swimming pool and leisure centre at Perdiswell in 2017, the former pool located on Sansome Walk has been closed.

Worcester City Council is proposing to demolish the existing buildings with work starting in November and are seeking a development partner to work with in bringing forward the site for a residential development.

The council have instructed Worcester-based property firm Fisher German to bring the site to market.

It is thought that the site will be able to accommodate in the region of 50 houses and apartments.

Richard Tomlinson, partner of Fisher German, said: “This is an exciting instruction for Fisher German and is a project we have been working on with Worcester City Council for some time now. Sites such as this located so close to the city centre do not come to market often, therefore the site presents a fantastic opportunity to create a unique and high quality development close to the city centre.

“As a result, we are expecting to receive a high level of interest from the market.”
