Fudge producer makes move online
A fudge producer, which has recently become a supplier to Severn Valley Railway, has moved its business online.
Customers are still able to purchase fudge on the internet from Make It Worcestershire campaign members Wychbold Fudge.
Prior to Coronavirus, the family-owned business thrived from selling its fudge via local stalls and festivals, marketplaces and independent stores across the county. When restrictions tightened and many of their original outlets closed, they were forced into re-thinking how they delivered their products.
Working with local creative agency Wizard pi, the decision to launch an all new website with e-Commerce functionality was made.
Wychbold Fudge was one of the first businesses to sign up to be a part of the Make It Worcestershire campaign, a new initiative created by One Worcestershire and The Worcestershire Food and Drink Association, to support local produce and producers following the pandemic.
When asked why supporting the campaign and local producers was so important to them, owner Sheena Beck said: “Wherever possible we work towards using local produce which also helps the local economy and importantly helps us to keep our carbon footprint down. We also like to know who we are dealing with, which makes the whole process more personal.
“This summer we have made several real fruit fudges with fruit picked locally at Bells Fruit Farm; it’s great to see the circular economy work.”
“We jumped at the chance to be included in the Make it Worcestershire campaign and more than anything to help give recognition to the small businesses who are helping us all recover from Covid-19 and getting things moving again.”

“We want to be able to support more businesses like this one and help to promote their produce across the county and the nation.”
Wychbold Fudge is now a supplier yo the Severn Valley Railway, collaborating with them to sell a ‘Rail Road Rum & Raisin’ flavoured fudge.
