Developer prepares to submit planning applications for next phase of Paradise scheme

Argent will submit planning applications for Three Chamberlain Square and a new 4-star hotel at its Paradise site in Birmingham early next year, according to its regional director.

Accepting the Ambassador of the Year Award at the West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2020 last night, Rob Groves said that he is still excited about the future of the huge city centre scheme.

He said: “These are immensely challenging times, but physically seeing and feeling new buildings go up at the site is great.

“We’ve overcome huge hurdles such as Carillion going bust and the global pandemic but we’ve still got belief in this project.”

Three Chamberlain Square will, along with a new 4-star hotel on the corner of Paradise Street and Ratcliff Square, complete Phase Two of Birmingham’s most important regeneration scheme and bring the total number of buildings on site to six.

Groves added: “We’re still delivering, despite market conditions, and we’re committed to the city. We can see beyond what’s happening at the moment. We’re rolling out our next phase – and we’re confident in the region.”
