Transport recruitment firm drives growth with move to innovation centre

A recruitment firm for the transport industry has expanded its business and moved to larger offices in the Black Country to meet demand.

Reactive Driving Recruitment has taken a 1493 sq ft office at Watt House, in the Innovation Centre at the Pensnett Estate, Kingswinford, which is owned and managed by commercial property and investment company LCP.

Scott Strange, director at the family-run business, said the move from smaller premises in nearby Brierley Hill was needed to enable it to continue growing after two years in business.

“We supply mainly HGV drivers and 7.5 tonne/van drivers to local businesses to cover their holiday period, sickness and busy periods and have expanded into the industrial sector, supplying industrial temporary staff, skilled and also technical staff as well as commercial staff,” he said.

“With two years’ experience behind us, a great team of professionals and investments into our back office support systems, we can grow and maintain a high standards of service and our family business ethics.

“The Innovation Centre is the perfect location and I hope we’ll be able to support many clients on the estate with any support in staffing needs they may have. We’ve been fortunate that during the lockdown and since Covid, we have actually increased our staff, taking on three extra sales staff and an additional payroll administrator.”

Harvey Pearson, of Hexagon Commercial Property, which is the appointed agent for LCP, said Reactive Driving Recruitment was one of three businesses that has moved into the Innovation Centre in the past four months, including Four Seasons Health Care, which is one of the UK’s largest independent health care providers in the UK.

“Demand remains strong for offices across the Black Country and in particular at The Innovation Centre,” he said.
“Despite many outlining the ‘demise of the office sector’, we are finding that demand for our stock is still out there. To add to this most recent letting we have, since lockdown began in March, completed on more than 6,000 sq ft of office lettings at The Innovation Centre with a further 3,931 sq ft of office space at the Estate currently under offer.”

Paula James, lettings manager at LCP, said: “It’s great to see so many local businesses thriving and being in a position to take on premises or take on bigger office space at The Innovation Centre. The centre has proved to be a launchpad for many ambitious businesses over the years and we look forward to welcoming our new tenants to the estate.”
