New owner for Birmingham bistro

A Birmingham bistro is under new ownership following a funding deal.

Darryl Pannell of Four Oaks Food Co, has purchased the Blackroot Bistro in Sutton Park.

After securing funding from Barclays, Pannell set about making plans for the business including theme nights, extended opening hours, as well as continuing to support local walkers and ramblers with refreshments.

He said: “It has been a long term ambition of mine to run my own business. When this opportunity arose, I knew I had to take it. Obviously it’s a very challenging time for the hospitality sector but if I can make it work during these times, I am confident I can grow the business when the economic situation improves.”

The business provides employment for 30 part time staff.
