Sixteen acre site acquired for residential scheme

The Strategic Land Group (SLG) has signed a land promotion agreement for a 16-acre site in Stone, Staffordshire, revealing plans for a new residential scheme of 150 homes.

Currently greenfield land used for grazing, the site is located to the south east of Stone.

SLG is currently working with a 17-site portfolio and actively promoting sites with the potential to deliver more than 3,000 new homes and with a gross GDV of circa £500m.

This newest site is one of several in the Midlands and forms part of SLG’s wider strategy to expand the business into the region, having, until now, concentrated primarily on sites in the North West and Yorkshire.

Paul Smith, managing director of Strategic Land Group, said: “We’re very pleased to have acquired our 15th site, this time in Stone – it’s an ideal location for much-needed new homes and will deliver high quality mixed market and affordable properties, along with new open space.

“Stafford Council will be compiling a new Local Plan with sites allocated for new homes until 2040 – we’re confident that this site will prove a sensible and desirable location to support the delivery of those new properties needed to underpin population growth in the coming years.”
