New bar and restaurant set to roll in to the Jewellery Quarter

A new bar and restaurant is set to open its doors in early 2021 having secured a premises in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Brought to the city by Sunny and Sonu – the  local restauranteur brothers behind Hen and Chickens – The Rolling Mill will mark the duo’s latest hospitality venture.

Located at the junction of Warstone Lane and Hall Street, the 7,857 sq.ft. space has been acquired from property restoration experts Javelin Block and is undergoing a six-figure refurbishment.

The 280 cover venue will offer indoor and outdoor space, with a covered courtyard, a heated mezzanine rooftop, two bars, and a private internal terrace.

Sunny said: “We are so looking forward to launching The Rolling Mill next year and hope this provides some much-needed good news for the hospitality sector in Birmingham. 2020 has undoubtedly been tough for all, particularly in our industry, and we know there is still a lot to battle in the coming months.

“However, we truly believe that The Rolling Mill concept is going help revitalise what was such a thriving sector in the city, and we cannot wait to welcome Birmingham when our doors are open.”

Following significant investment into The Rolling Mill, the brothers have already started recruiting the team that will bring the brand to life. In total, the bar and restaurant will create 40-60 roles.

“We are so excited to be bringing a new concept of vibrant, memorable and relaxed dining to the West Midlands. If the pandemic has shown us anything, it’s that people value spending time with their loved ones and we hope that The Rolling Mill will be a venue in which all can come together to unwind and enjoy amazing food, drink and atmosphere for many years to come,” Sonu added.
