City bar and grill closes its doors

A bar and grill has announced it has closed its doors for the final time due to a ‘catastrophic’ flood back in June.

Anderson’s Bar and Grill, based at St Paul’s Square in Birmingham, has now shut permanently.

Owner Dan Anderson said in a statement: “It is with great sadness and disappointment that Anderson’s Bar and Grill, being one of Birmingham’s oldest and much-loved restaurants, has had to close its doors for the final time.

“We suffered catastrophic flooding back in June of this year, and due to circumstances which were out of our control it became clear that we were not going to be in a position to re occupy by the start of December, we have been forced to permanently move out of the premises which was our home, business and place of good cheer for many of our clients over the past 11 years.

“May I make this clear, it has had nothing to do with the current Covid19 pandemic.”

He added: “I would like to give thanks to all of our staff, past and present for all of the years of hard work and dedication that made Andersons what it was, and a huge thankyou to all of our customers, your support and loyalty to our restaurant has been truly magical.

“We are truly devastated that it has had to come to an end.”
