Plans in for housing scheme on former medical site

Plans have been submitted to build 30 houses on the site of the former Ross House medical facility in Birmingham.

SevenHomes, the regional housebuilder by SevenCapital Group, acquired the 2.4-acre brownfield site in Northfield earlier this year from the NHS.

Previously classed as surplus land, the sale means the land can now be redeveloped and brought back to life while capital raised will be injected back into NHS services.

Located off Sheldon Road, the development – The Crescent, will feature a range of two, three and four-bedroom family homes in terrace, detached and townhouse styles, with a gross development value (GDV) of £7.5m.

Jonathan Richards, managing director at SevenHomes, said: “Having sat disused for some time as surplus land, this site can now be revived and used to build a small community of modern, family homes which will be ideally located near to key medical facilities, amenities and transport networks.

“Equally it means capital from the sale will be put to good use where it’s needed within the NHS, which following this year is more important than ever.

“I’m really pleased to have been able to submit plans so soon after acquiring the land and look forward to them being approved and working with the team at SevenHomes to turn plans into reality.”
