Property People: The latest hires across the region’s property sector

Real estate advisor Avison Young has made three senior hires within its Birmingham-based real estate management team to support post-COVID demand.

Strong 2020 growth for the division means the team welcomes Gary Imrie as director and head of property accounts, Jonathan Aspinall as director in the management team and Becki Leonard as marketing manager within the firm’s marketing and engagement team.

Caroline Pooley, principal of the real estate management team at Avison Young, said:”In a hugely challenging year, engagement and provision of insightful data and information has been the key focus across our real estate management team.

“From keeping in touch with our clients regularly, to helping them navigate the often daily changes to their operations and the expectations of their occupiers and users, to delivering high-impact strategic work and insights that maintains, evolves and grows their offer, while continuing to connect them to their audiences – our people have driven engagement at every level imaginable.

“By advancing our support, our platforms and our approach, our work has become even more valuable which has helped us to grow and to both retain and attract talented individuals. Welcoming Gary, Jonathan and Becki to the team will ensure we continue to build on this success and remain agile, and more importantly, human, in our response in 2021.”

Early 2020 also saw the promotion of Lydia Ellis to head up the destination marketing team, after more than seven years at Avison Young and a background in management roles for the likes of The NEC and Marketing Birmingham (now the West Midlands Growth Company).
