Courier company to deliver 50 jobs with branch takeover

Courier company Speedy Freight is set to create 50 jobs following the appointment of a new franchisee who will be taking over the revamped Walsall and Wolverhampton branch.

Speedy Freight, the courier division of Eddie Stobart, has welcomed Martin Andrews who will head up the operation supporting wholesalers, legal firms, manufacturers and construction companies.

As well as offering courier services, Speedy Freight supports communities across the UK. Most Speedy Freight branches are partnered with a community project and the new Walsall and Wolverhampton branch will support the Acorns Children’s hospice in Walsall.

To mark the appointment of Andrews and the relaunch of the branch, Speedy Freight will be donating £500 to the Save Acorns Black Country Hospice Appeal to help fund the future of the Walsall hospice which is currently at risk of closure.

Andrews said: “I’ve admired Speedy Freight for years, they have such a reputation for excellence in customer service, which is one of the things I pride most in a business.

“Speedy Freight’s community engagement is another massive factor which drew me to the company, as each brand supports charitable causes in their local area.

“My new team and I wanted to show our appreciation for the great work that Acorns Children’s Hospice is providing to youngsters across the West Midlands and we hope the donation to their appeal will make a difference.

“I’m excited to see what we can accomplish with my new team in 2021.”
