Birmingham-based business change consultancy, Entec Si, has announced that 30% of its staff are being promoted as part of its transition to a new target operating model.

The firm says the move to a consultancy structure will enable the business to strengthen its cross-sector service offering, while helping to accelerate the development of its people.

Rather than focusing on specialisms, such as business analysis, the Entec Si team will now be made up of seven different levels of consultants. Although its people will still have specialist areas of expertise, they will now receive training in a wider variety of consultancy skills, ensuring every team member can support clients on all aspects of a project.

Those moving into new roles include: Sofia Caputo, Eilis Garton-Marrows, Charlotte Stanyer, Ben Brown, Pete Britten, Tim Powlson and Sue Johnson-Gregory.

Eman Al-Hillawi, co-founder and director of Entec Si, said: “Our previous operating model was based on competencies and skills, whereas it now has a strong people development focus. This will enable our people to diversify their talents, while focusing on areas that interest them, ensuring our clients receive the best possible service.

“The realignment of roles during this process has highlighted just how much the team has progressed throughout the last year, and it’s great to be able to recognise and reward this.”

848 Group, the Stafford IT firm, has appointed a new head of project management office (PMO).

Justine Slade

Justine Slade joins 848 with over 10 years’ experience in the IT industry and has worked with clients across many sectors including telecoms, retail, financial services, legal, engineering, manufacturing and automotive.

She said: “I’m looking forward to managing cross functional resource planning and project portfolio management as well as enhancing 848’s strategic relationship between Sales and PMO.”

Group technical director David Burn said: “Justine is already proving to be an asset to the team and is drawing on her wealth of experience. She has delivered multimillion pound global programmes as well as key strategic projects. The knowledge and skills she developed over the past decade are perfect for the increasing demands of the business and we’re looking forward to driving the growth of the business together.”

Slade said: “I am excited about joining 848 group during a period of massive growth and I can’t wait to be part of the momentum. Process is key to both myself and 848 so I’m thrilled to be a part of an agile and forward-thinking company.

“I’m eagerly anticipating the challenge of growing professionally with 848 and supporting a team that drives growth and facilitates success with business-changing IT.”

Dave Thomas

SES Engineering Services (SES), has further strengthened its work winning team with the appointment of Dave Thomas as regional bid manager, as the firm looks to extend its reach in the Midlands and South West.

Based primarily in the Birmingham office, Thomas will be responsible for securing mechanical and eElectrical (M&E) engineering projects sectors including healthcare, manufacturing and education.

Thomas has worked on a number of major ventures for companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Birmingham Airport and BMW, along with large-scale, public works for the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Education.

His appointment follows SES’ recent hire of Lisa Beaman as pre-construction manager.

Steve Joyce, managing director, SES Engineering Services said: “The Midlands and South West are fantastic locations for construction right now, and as a firm, we’re investing heavily to ensure we have the best foundations to make the most of new business opportunities in these regions.

“Dave has already displayed a strong track record of securing highly complex, technical M&E projects, which will support our strategic move into sectors such as healthcare and education.

“As we extend our footprint in the region, it’s essential that the bid team is driven by someone of Dave’s calibre and experience. It’s clear that working alongside names such as Jaguar Land Rover comes second nature to Dave, so it’s extremely exciting to see where he’ll help take the firm.”
