Launch date confirmed for coffee shop at Co-op’s new flagship site

The launch date has been confirmed for a new coffee shop set to open at Central England Co-op’s £3m flagship site in Lichfield later this month.

The retailer has teamed up with the Insomnia Coffee Company to bring the fast-growing coffee chain’s first Staffordshire outlet to its Boley Park Food Store and it can now be revealed it will open its doors on Friday April 16.

Insomnia is Ireland’s leading independent coffee shop chain where it was founded in 1997 but has been rapidly expanding with outlets across the UK, including opening at Central England Co-op’s Littleover Food Store last year.

The coffee shop will be the latest phase of the revamped Boley park development to open after the successful launch of the revamped food store, new petrol filing station and redesigned car park late last year, with two other units ready to house a gym and fish and chip shop opening this summer to complete the project.

Team leader at the coffee shop Claire Ball said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to our brand-new coffee shop and to offer the Boley Park community a great place to pick up a refreshment and meet friends and family when we all can safely.

“It will be a high-quality coffee shop, offering 100% Fairtrade coffee and tea, as well as a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and snacks that I’m sure our customers will really love. “Initially we will be able to offer takeaway, as well as an external seating area with full social distancing and safety measures in place and we look forward to when restrictions are lifted further so customers can enjoy the comfortable and stylish interior the shop will offer.

“So, come on down on Friday, April 16 to check out the new coffee shop and take advantage of some great opening deals, as well as the free entertainment and treats on offer.”
