Offices in former Midland Bank building hit the market

The chance to purchase prime office space in the central business district of Birmingham is continuing to generate fierce competition among investors and occupiers.

James Mattin, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Commercial, said they had been “inundated” with early interest within days of bringing a Bennetts Hill office suite to the market.

Bond Wolfe are marketing the property jointly with Charlotte Fullard at Vail Williams.

The premises, which was originally the first Midland Bank branch (now HSBC) at 33 Bennetts Hill, is also home to the Cosy Club (not part of the sale/letting) on the ground floor.

The 5,544 sq ft open plan office suite above has its own ground floor front door with stairs and lift access to the upper floors of 33 Bennetts Hill.

The property is being offered for sale at £1.475m and is also considered suitable for other uses, subject to planning consent.

Mattin said: “This is a rare opportunity to purchase office space right at the heart of the Colmore Business District, close to all the major professional firms and handy for transport connections at New Street Station, Snow Hill Station and the Midland Metro.

“The open plan configuration, with a number of private offices or meeting room around the perimeter of the floor space, would seem to be ideal for the likely post-Covid style of flexible working.

“The address also has the benefit of being located in a very vibrant quarter of the city and as Birmingham reawakens from the latest lockdown and the streets become busy once again, this is an added attraction for businesses looking for a good work-life balance.”
