Windows and conservatories specialist creates jobs after record sales performance

A Kidderminster-based business has recorded the best two-month sales period in its history.

5 Star Windows and Conservatories has secured retail and trade orders worth nearly £2.5m in February and March, a figure that is 125% higher than last year and 53% up on 2019.

The company, which operates a showroom on Worcester Road and a second one on Carden Street in Worcester, has created 20 new jobs as a result, with new designers, operations and customer service experts added to the 100-strong team.

Management at the firm believe a combination of industry-leading new products, proactive marketing campaigns during the pandemic, and the use of technology to provide the best possible customer experience have been fundamental in supporting the growth.

The milestone achievements come as 5 Star celebrates 10 years as a member of the Conservatory Outlet network of retailers, who design and build living spaces and install a portfolio of windows and doors that provide energy efficiency and security.

“Covid-19 has meant that people have been unable to go out or book holidays so, as a result, we have seen massive pent-up demand to start projects in the home,” said Richard Manser, 5 Star’s managing director.

“This has helped drive unprecedented interest in our products and our rapidly growing team has been outstanding in helping customers explore their choices whilst making the buying experience as engaging as possible.”

He added: “It is an approach that is certainly working, with the last two months the best in our history. Even with numbers soaring, we have maintained our promise that whilst styles may vary, our standards don’t and we’re proud to still be recommended by 99.3% of people.”

5 Star Windows and Conservatories has established a strong reputation across Worcestershire, the West Midlands and surrounding counties having installed more than 30,000 windows and completed over 3,000 conservatories, orangeries and lifestyle extensions during the last two decades.

The company has plans for further expansion in 2021 as it looks to extend the success enjoyed over the last 12 months.

This includes the opening of a new Birmingham showroom in Hall Green, where 5 Star plans to make a significant investment in order to create a boutique retail experience.

Visitors to the new showroom will be able to access a unique 3D design studio, which will provide the opportunity to see their ideas brought to life.

Manser added: “Conservatory Outlet has been really supportive over the last decade and especially so during the last 12 months as we’ve all battled through the pandemic.

“This includes providing a portfolio of products that is continually evolving with the latest innovations and a marketing team that dovetails with our own to develop new campaigns, brochures and other materials. Its nationwide buying power also enables us to offer our own customers exceptional value for money.”
