Fast-growing tech firm launches latest digital platform

A fast-growing UK technology firm is celebrating following the launch of its new digital platform as it continues to expand its technology team with new hires at its Birmingham base.

Wise, which specialises in software to improve the self-employment experience within the logistics sector, is based in Solihull.

Over the last 12 months the company has seen its workforce grow from a team of eight to 40.

The company’s innovative software now supports over 160 UK logistics firms and over 8,000 self-employed subcontractors on everything from managing their onboarding and compliance processes to expenses and invoicing.

As the business has expanded, Wise has needed to fill development and digital design roles within the technology team and has looked to address industry-wide issues around diversity and inclusion through its recruitment.

This diversity has been achieved through working with the School of Code. School of Code is a free digital bootcamp that offers people of all backgrounds and positions the chance to retrain in coding and web design through an intensive, industry-focused programme.

Offering a route into the exciting UK technology sector, Wise has recruited seven graduates from the School of Code into a range of positions within the development team.

The technology firm is now celebrating the launch of its new platform and accompanying mobile app, which provides a solution for an array of long-term issues affecting the logistics industry, such as recruiting, onboarding subcontractors.
