Former Sky Blues supporters club to go under the hammer

The former Sky Blues Supporters Club is among the key attractions at the next Loveitts auction which takes place next week.

Freehold Street was purchased and opened by Sky Blues Supporters Club in the late 1970s.

Originally formed in the 1920s, the club raised thousands of pounds for Coventry City FC to help with ground improvements including floodlights.

With the potential for redevelopment, the sale of the former social club and adjoining car park, situated at 50 – 56 Freehold Street, off Harnall Lane East in Hillfields, offers an opportunity for investors and developers.

Sally Smith, director and auctioneer at Loveitts, said: “The Sky Blues Supporters Club presents an ideal opportunity for people looking to invest.

“Although a commercial property it comes with the potential for various uses and as a freehold property with vacant possession, keen buyers have more scope to start work on their project immediately, making it a more attractive investment.”

The site is one of more than 20 up for auction next Thursday, May 20 from 6.30pm. It comes with a guide price of between £600,000 and £800,000.
