Mansion on sought after Birmingham estate sells for more than £2m

A Victorian mansion on one of the most desirable roads in Birmingham has been sold for more than £2m.
The Gothic-style residence on Farquhar Road on the Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston has six bedrooms and four bathrooms, with the potential to convert a neighbouring coach house into extra living quarters.
Originally built in 1865, the freehold property was marketed at £2.25m.
Ben Davidson, managing director of Davidson Estates, the estate and letting agency with offices in Edgbaston and Birmingham city centre, said: “This stunning mansion drew substantial interest and we’re very proud to have sold it to a private family for close to the asking price.
“Farquhar Road is located in a highly desirable suburb of Birmingham and is a street that’s known for its prestigious mansion properties with large gardens and views of the city centre.”
