A major West Midlands supplier to Jaguar Land Rover is on the verge of collapsing into administration.

Liberty Aluminum Technologies (LAT), which is part of Sanjeev Gupta’s business empire, is engaged in emergency talks with its lender, Close Brothers, according to reports from Sky News.

LAT has sites in Coventry, Kidderminster and Witham in Essex and JLR is its biggest customer. The firm employs 250 people and is a subsidiary of Gupta’s GFG Alliance groups of steel and metals business, which makes parts for JLR. The firm was put up for sale a month ago.

Close Brothers has reportedly instructed Interpath Advisory to weigh up options for LAT.
