Plans to redevelop the former Ladywood Social Club in Birmingham into apartments have been revealed.

MIA Property Group wants to the disused social club building with a residential scheme of 144 homes

The Five would provide a mixed-tenure development of private and social homes to help meet a housing need outlined in the Birmingham Development Plan.

It would include 144 one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments over 12 to 15 storeys. Fifty of the apartments would be provided to meet local social housing needs including rented, shared ownership and homes for sale at discounted rates for keyworkers.

MIA’s proposals are for an L-shaped apartment block on the corner of Ladywood Middleway and Leyburn Road.

The developr said it would create a new footpath along the north side of Leyburn Road if its plans are passed.
